Intersecting themes of identity, memory, and displacement, my figurative paintings distort how human relationships interplay with our feelings of belonging. I use oil paint on canvas to form dynamic compositions that re-define how memory and identity are both constructed and destabilised. The relationships portrayed between the figures blur the boundaries between the platonic and the romantic. With a touch of youth spirit, my provocative work is at times sarcastic and hedonistic, but at its core, my paintings are rooted in feminism as they challenge the performative self and how femininity is constructed in society.
